Emily Reed with Blue Heron Counseling LLC

Emily Reed, MS

Hi, I’m Emily Reed,

a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern and a proud military spouse. I have a passion for helping military families cope with the challenges and opportunities that come with this unique lifestyle.

As a military spouse of over 10 years, and an "Army Brat" growing up, I have seen the military world from many perspectives, as a child and wife. I have lived in Japan, Italy, and now Florida, and I have learned to adapt to different cultures, languages, and environments. I know how hard it can be to deal with deployments, family reintegration, and frequent transitions.

That's why I decided to pursue a career in psychology and counseling, and earned my B.S. and M.S. degrees from Troy University. I have completed Level 1 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, a research-based approach to strengthening relationships. I also have experience working with individuals, couples, and families on various issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and stress management.

My goal is to provide you with a safe, supportive, and confidential space where you can share your thoughts and feelings, explore your goals and values, and learn new skills and strategies to enhance your well-being. I will strive to establish a solid therapeutic relationship with you based on trust, respect, empathy, and collaboration.

The military life throws us curve balls, and I hope having experienced those curve balls first hand I can help you navigate through those times. Whether you are looking for individual counseling, couples counseling, or family counseling, I am here to help you achieve your personal and relational goals.

Thank you for visiting my website and for considering me as your counselor. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if you would like to schedule an appointment. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
